This developement involved the construction of a steel portal framed building. The foundations were of traditional reinforced pads and strips, with a reinforced ground bearing floor slab. The walls and roof are generally steel clad, but with cavity masonry on the lower half of the walls. Around the perimeter of the building the ground drops away significantly, and in order to acheive an economical design, the slab level was maintained, with the external walls designed to retain the slab loads and alleviate any significant remodelling of the external ground levels. Sub surface drainage was also designed by Cintel along with the external hardstanding areas.
